Ultra Motion Detection (UMD)

Ultra Motion Detection filters out unnecessary movement to identify and record only humans, non-motorized vehicles, and motor vehicles. By capturing key activity exclusively, it conserves hard drive storage during motion-only recording and increases speed when locating specific events. Additionally, configuring human and vehicle detection streamlines video review through targeted playback options.

Ultra Motion Options

Ultra Motion Detection (UMD) options can be accessed within the standard motion detection settings on an NVR. To view all available configuration options, simply set the detection mode to Ultra Motion Detection. When recording on the NVR, UMD events are logged in playback under standard motion detection and trigger regular motion app notifications rather than smart feature alerts. Standard trigger actions are available for UMD.

Playback Options

Enabling UMD alongside Human, Motor Vehicle, and Non-Motor Vehicle detection unlocks the quick event search feature in the playback menu. These search filters appear at the bottom of the playback interface as Human, Bicycle, and Car icons.

Playback Timeline

Activating a Quick Event Search button displays a green bar across the playback timeline over standard recordings, marking every instance where the specified object is detected. Selecting a green event plays the associated clip; once finished, system playback automatically fast forwards to the next green event segment.
