License Plate Recognition (LPR)
License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology is used to automatically read, capture, and record vehicle license plate numbers from video streams or camera footage.
Key Uses & Applications
Security and Monitoring: Tracking vehicles entering or exiting facilities, parking lots, or restricted areas.
Access Control: Automating gate access for authorized vehicles by matching plates against a database.
Traffic and Parking Management: Assisting with parking enforcement and traffic monitoring.
Dark and Fast-Moving Capture: Utilizing specialized camera settings—such as high-speed shutters—to ensure license plates remain clear and readable even at night or on moving vehicles.

Plate Search & Filtering
The plate search feature enables users to locate plate detections across all available channels. To enable direct plate detection, a compatible NVR and an LPR camera model are required. Using the search menu, users can filter results by time period, vehicle type, vehicle color, and travel direction. Additionally, plate number searches support partial matches.

Database Registration & Matching
Registering license plates to a database accelerates vehicle retrieval by allowing direct searches for matching records. Furthermore, this system enables automated trigger actions tailored specifically to matching and non-matching plate detections.

Trigger Actions & Integration
Trigger actions can be set up based on Matching and Non-Matching plates from the database. Available actions consist of Push Alarm (mobile notifications), Buzzer (NVR internal beeper), Send Email, Alarm Lights (camera-based where available), Alarm Sounds (camera or IP speaker based where available), Snapshot, Record, PTZ Preset Activation, and External Alarm Outputs.
In this case, External Alarm outputs can be used in order to trigger opening of gates and such.
